Be a part of helping fund a community playground at Southern Arkansas University’s duck pond, an area in Magnolia that attracts families for outdoor recreation yet is in dire need of an area specifically for our youth. Every morning and evening, community members stroll the walking trail around the pond, stop to feed the ducks or fish, play at the tennis courts, or just come to relax under the shade of the oak trees.
Children who live on campus will also benefit from having a place to play. The SAU campus is home to the families of non-traditional students who live in on-campus apartments as well as some faculty and staff members who live in campus housing. Further enhancing the family-friendly atmosphere of the SAU campus will help the University as it recruits non-traditional students as well as faculty and staff members.
Playground equipment will be a wonderful addition for all of the families in our community to enjoy the outdoors in a scenic and safe environment. The image below shows the type of equipment we would like to purchase in phase one of this project.
Your gift will be matched!
If you join Making Magnolia Blossom (MMB) on this community playground initiative and donate toward a goal of $7,500, that amount will be matched by MMB, SAU Housing and SAU Student Activities! The $15,000 total will be a strong kickoff to establishing playground equipment for children to enjoy for years to come.
Please don't wait - act now!
Please consider sharing this project on your social media, via email, or any way you can think of to spread the word and help us build this playground.
Thank you for your support!
All donations will receive a handwritten note. Gifts of $100 and up will get a shoutout or mention on MMB’s Facebook or website. Gifts of $500 and up will be listed as a major sponsor on the MMB website and Facebook.
