Southern Arkansas University FAQ

How are projects chosen for the Ignite website?

Student organizations, faculty, and staff may submit an application for crowdfunding by clicking the “Apply” button at the top of this page. All projects must align with the University’s mission and must meet the University’s gift acceptance guidelines.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. All donations through Ignite are tax deductible as allowed by law. You will receive a tax receipt once your gift is processed by the Southern Arkansas University Foundation.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged as soon as you complete your gift on the Ignite website.

May I make a gift by mail or by phone?

If you are not able to make a gift through our secure online portal, gifts are accepted by mail or phone. For more information on how you can contribute towards any project listed on the Ignite website, contact Megan McCurdy at (870) 235-4323 or meganmccurdy@saumag.edu.

What if a project doesn’t reach its funding goal?

If a project does not meet its funding goal, collected funds will be used to support the current project or other initiatives within the college, department, or program that most closely align with the original purpose of the gift.

What if a campaign is over funded?

If a project exceeds its funding goal, additional project funds beyond the stated goal amount may be used to further the project. Any funds available after the project ends may be used to benefit other projects within the college, department, or program that closely align with the original intent of the gift.
